Introduction
I relocated to the Muskegon area from Boston. There I was an inner-city high school mathematics teacher.
I have over three years of urban classroom experience, two years substituting,
and three years in a small Catholic school. In addition I have over eleven years of experience tutoring
mathematics. I have taught and/or tutored a very large spectrum of math subjects to students of all levels
and abilities. I am looking for an opportunity to utilize my math and teaching skills as well as my talents
to the fullest degree. I am also the Instructional Technology Specialist and am
a proponent of integrating technology into the classroom.
In the last five years I have acquired experience and certification in Michigan.
I have a Michigan Provisional Certificate (EX-Mathematics 6-12) and I am highly
qualified. During the 06-08 school years, I was substitute teaching to
familiarize myself with the various school districts in the area. In that time I
was a long-term math substitute five times
for the following schools: Muskegon Public Schools, Mona Shores Public Schools,
Montague Public Schools and for Reeths-Puffer Schools.
My goal is to find a setting that is challenging and rewarding.
I would like to be an asset to the school and its reputation.
Although I have experience working with very little supervision and/or resources, I would like to be
in a school setting where faculty members work together and merge their ideas for the benefit of the students’
education.
